(VEN) – The Ministry of Science and Technology’s (MoST) Office of National Science and Technology Research Programs recently reported on the major national science and technology (sci-tech) program “Supporting research, development, and application of Industry 4.0 technology” (KC-4.0/19-30). So far, 49 tasks have been signed and implemented, of which 36 tasks are under implementation; nine approved; one awaiting acceptance; and three suspended.
Vietnamese organizations and businesses have mastered and applied Industry 4.0 technologies |
A number of technology solutions found from key technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence, blockchain, big data analysis, have great potential for widespread applications. Through the program, the scientists’ research capacity has gradually improved, and they have formed some strong research teams on Industry 4.0 technology.
Most tasks involve participation of businesses, through which domestic research organizations and businesses will master key technologies of Industrial Revolution 4.0.
Research, transfer of Industry 4.0 technologies
The office also said that most of the tasks under the program focus on the research, transfer of key technologies of Industry 4.0 that Vietnam has advantages to create products for production, business and services.
For example, in the field of public health care, first-level hospitals in Vietnam have applied AI technologies based on big data analysis for post-stroke rehabilitation; prenatal screening for some common congenital abnormalities in Vietnam; monitor and supervise smart advice on nutrition for Vietnamese people and some patient groups.
In the field of agriculture, with the applications of Blockchain technology, Big data analysis, Internet of Things, scientific and technological tasks have contributed to developing Vietnam’s precision agriculture sector.
The above technologies have been applied to the management of honey production for export and domestic consumption, pepper production and consumption chain in Vietnam, optimizing the amount of irrigation water for dragon fruit trees, and supporting database construction of soil for agricultural development.
In the field of education and training, a human-like smart robot has been created to support English teaching at elementary schools to help students develop self-confidence in communication. In particular, technologies in this Industrial Revolution era have been recognized in the construction and manufacturing industries, including the production of large-sized concrete 3D printing systems in the construction industry, early warning of incidents of the 110KV power transmission lines based on the AI application and big data processing, developing a robot complex in logistics services, producing 3D printing materials for ceramic production, building platform software to develop applications for SCADA systems…
In the field of IT, several units and businesses have applied AI and cloud computing in identifying and detecting unusual events; built a platform for e-governments at localities; and developed an automatic system to detect, warn and prevent cyber attacks targeting small IoT devices using intelligent agent networks.
The KC-4.0/19-30 program is tasked with creating research products, applying Industry 4.0 technologies and digital transformation solutions to operations, management, and production – business activities, such as wooden furniture and ceramic production, large-scale pangasius farming, and garment production.
Other business models based on digital technology include research and building digital transformation models for smart schools and research, design and production of smart human-like robots to support English teaching at elementary schools. |
